R3400 | R3800	SHDSL routers for high-speed Internet access and VPN connection The bintec R3400 and bintec R3800 SHDSL routers were specially developed for high-speed Internet access and for VPN connections for medium-sized enterprises and branch offices. Connected to an 8-wire copper line, these devices enable a transmission capacity of up to 9.2 Mbps (bintec R3800). more	R4100	A Fully Equipped, Flexible IP Router The bintec R4100 is a high-performance IP router designed for small and medium-sized enterprises and can be used as a WAN access router or as a central remote access server. The bintec R4100 already comes complete with two BRI interfaces, allowing the use of four ISDN B channels. The two PRI interfaces can also be activated optionally. In addition to the ISDN BRI and PRI interfaces, a DSP slot has also been integrated for up to 32/64 simultaneous VoIP channels, making it possible to use the router as a VoIP media gateway.	R4300	Flexible IP Router with Serial Interfaces The bintec R4300 is a high-performance IP router designed for small and medium-sized enterprises and can be used as a WAN access router or as a central remote access server. The bintec R4300 already comes complete with two BRI and an X.21 interface. A license can be purchased to activate a second X.21 interface. A media gateway is used in telecommunication e.g. in next generation networks and in IP Telefony. In this context the gateway converts digital voice or picture information (media) from one network type to another. Normally a data transcoding comes along with that conversion.

The interface environment of our bintec routers and the possibility of some model lines to expand Digital Signal Processors, afford us to advance this approach.

Our experience lead us to construe that theme in two different directions.

The gateway as virtual ISDN card at the LAN via the reliable Remote CAPI Interface
CAPI compliant applicaction can access to ISDN ports without hardware dependency.
Voice and fax applications are able to tranfer voice data via mulitible channels and fax (T.30) sending and receiving.
As a matter of course this functionality is available for  virtual servers too, because the connection to the Remote CAPI Server is based on LAN.
